ADC Cylinder Heads Division of Artistique Diversified Corporation

ADC Cylinder Heads is a re-manufacturer and distributor of top quality re-manufactured, new and performance automobile and truck Cylinder heads. Our technical and management staff has over seventy five years of combined expertise in automotive parts and automotive machine re-manufacturing of cylinder heads, complete engines and related automotive parts. ADC Cylinder Heads is a division of Artistique Diversified Corporation of La Vernia, Texas. Our 30,000+ square foot re-manufacturing and warehouse facility, part of our network of 31 nationwide automotive parts, manufacturing & warehouse facilities, is located in San Antonio, Texas. Over the last 18 months we have invested about $50,000 to upgrade equipment to the newest and best so that we can provide our customers with the best quality cylinder heads. Our ability to keep a large inventory of cylinder head cores in stock at all times by buying about 50 complete core engines a day and keeping an inventory of cylinder heads numbering in the thousands, assures our customers will always receive their new re-manufactured cylinder head quickly and at the best prices that can be offered in today's market with NO CORE CHARGES to be added to the price of ANY cylinder head that we sell and we don't require an exchange sent to us. All of our cylinder head cores are first checked for cracks or any other defects. We WILL NEVER use a head core that has a crack repaired by welding and will not weld any head ourselves as we feel that this does "fix" the cracked head, but weakens the metal around the weld, compromising the integrity of the metal for future weak points. You can be assured that your new re-manufactured head will be the best quality available in today's market for a re-built head with NO WELD REPAIRS!

In fall of 2006 we are breaking ground for our new modern state-of-the-art 7500 square foot machine shop area next to our current facility to move all re-manufacturing operations to so that we can produce the best quality cylinder heads available today. This will also give us the space to stock More Cylinder Heads For You!

Steps we take in remanufacturing all cylinder heads
Initial Cleaning:
After disassembling, each cylinder head is stripped of any heavy sludge build up and put into our New pressure washing bake oven to get the cylinder head ready for testing for cracks.

Magneflux, Dye and Pressure Testing:
In this step we first do a visual check for cracks. If the casting has been previously welded it is SCRAPED! If the core looks good we next do a magneflux check on cast iron heads or a dye test on aluminum. This will reveal any cracks not seen by the naked eye. If the head passes this test it goes to the final test for all of our cores which is pressure testing at 100 pounds per cubic inch. If it passes this final test, we will re-manufacture the head.

Final Cleaning:
For the final cleaning cast iron heads are put into the sleelibrader machine which cleans them to a like new finish blasting them with tiny steel beads. Aluminum heads are inspected and and old carbon that the bake oven wash could not remove is cleaned by wire wheel or hand scraping. Putting them in the steelibrader could do damage to the head.

Resurfacing:
All cylinder heads must pass that the surface is flat and will seat flush on the engine block. Any cylinder head that needs to be resurfaced or cut is done only if the casting will still be within OEM specifications. We will not cut any head beyond minimum even if over-thickness head gaskets are available.

Reassembly:
After careful and thorough inspection of all valve guides and valves, any guides that are worn are pressed out and replaced. Next new seals are installed on the all valves and the cylinder head is reassembled.

Vacuum Testing:
The final test is to vacuum test all of the ports with the use of a state of the art Snap-On vacuum gun to assure that all of the valves are sealing and assures proper compression upon installation of your re-manufactured cylinder head. After the head passes the final test it is visually inspected once more before being carefully packaged in plastic to maintain the cleanliness of your new re-manufactured cylinder head.

Final 9 Point check:
1. Vacuum Test (all Ports).
2. Valve keepers seated.
3. Head Surface.
4. Intake Surface.
4. Exhaust Surface.
5. Valve Cover Surface.
6. All Broken Studs Removed.
7. Run Tap in All Threaded Holes.
8. Check That ALL Freeze Plugs are New.
9. Check Casting Number to Order.
